About our event: Join the adventure of all things cheese and cured meat with head cheesemaker Jacqueline Foster of The Grey Barn Farm creamery and artisan food purveyor Sid Wainer & Son. You'll taste six different cheeses and participate in a discussion of the different styles and the diversity of new American farmstead cheeses. You'll also enjoy a tasting of handmade charcuterie presented by Henry Wainer, and learn how create a feast with fantastic wine pairings for your next gathering with family and friends.
Fresh off the Farm: A Celebration of Loceal Farms & Chefs
Join us for a delicious, community gathering and weekend kickoff featuring Island farms and chefs, with sustainable, family-run vineyards, and tunes from our favorite Vineyard band, Good Night Louise. As local and fresh as it gets, this tasting adventure and celebration of the bounty of the land is the perfect, curated introduction to the Island's rich farming tradition, accompanied of course by 16 fantastic pours.
The evening's proceeds will benefit both the farm-to-school program Island Grown Schools—a part of the Island Grown Initiative empowering a new generation to make healthy choices, learn to grow food, and connect with local farms—and the Agricultural Society's grant program, which provides funding to Island farmers.
Grand Tasting of Mayhew
The Grand Tent on Mayhew Lane, in the heart of the seaside village of Edgartown, is the stage for the weekend's cornerstone celebration of Sea, Farm, and Vine. 25+ celebrated chefs, farms, fisheries, shellfish producers, and local artisans will serve up signature bites with 200+ pours from around the world (presented by Ruby Wines). There's also a Drinks Lounge, and a Culinary Studio and Pantry Reveal with Chef Donnie Masterton (The Restaurant, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico), Chef Duane Nutter (One Flew South, Atlanta), Chef Todd Richards (White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails, Richards Southern Fried, Atlanta), Chef Sarah Simmons (CITY GRIT, Birds & Bubbles), and a special appearance by island favorite, Chef Chris Fischer (Beetlebung Farm).
